Divine Love Poetry
The Door Held Tight
Father, open my soul
So closed has it been and uncared for,
More a black hole than a Light whole
A heavy door stands there, wearing a rusted lock
And barricades my heart against Your Light,
Feels impenetrable to Your Love
Father, You can pry open that unused door
Please make it so
I have tried so very hard to do it right
But it doesn’t seem to want to move
Is it the quantity or quality of my Faith that keeps it tight?
Is doubt a shield against Your Love?
Is there a toll on the Path Divine?
Meet me halfway, Father, with Your Love
And I’ll bring with me a mustard seed
Through which You’ll open up my soul
Because it’s harmony with You I want and need,
And conversation,
And the Love flowing to and fro.
Bless me, Father, with this gift of Yours
From Your Holy Spirit let this flow
Bless me with Your gift Divine
This Love of Yours, this Love of mine.
It is not My lock upon your door, says He
and I haven’t any key.
If you want a thing enough
You can always find a way
If you want the door to open
You can do it on this day.
Express that desire
by praying every day
For unless you’re on the Path Divine
the way you’ll go is clear
Doors will barricade you and halt you in your tracks
My Love is here for all of you
But can’t be had for free
The toll’s price is high indeed
The cost much more than a seed
The price is persistent longing and desire
For Divine Love to be yours
You must want Me in your life
Must BE Me in your life
But the reward you’ll find is Heaven,
happiness
and eternal delight.
I’m here to give
You’re there to get
It’s on you now
your heart to set.
Ask, ask and ask some more
And Light and Love will break the door.
