B.H. James Padgett has come through as the person/spirit/angel who would like to help me with mediumistic writing today. Hello, James. Thank you for coming today.

J.P. Hello Brian. It is my pleasure to come and assist you today in this important work. Perhaps you’d like to form a question for me.

B.H. Okay, I will. I have watched a Divine Love follower speak on her YouTube channel about suicide today. But I have reservations about her thoughts on the issue. She has four categories of suicide. One is regular suicide where one takes one’s own life, one is assisted suicide, where one ends one’s life near the end of one’s life with the help of another, one is negligent suicide, where one drinks or doesn’t take care of their body in some way that is detrimental to the body in a cognizant fashion, and another is suicide by not listening to the body's signals. Do you think these categories of suicide are too broad? And do you agree that assisted suicide is wrong or out of harmony with God?

J.P. These are deep and important topics, Brian. Thank you for asking about them. I can give you my view as a Celestial Angel but anything that I say should not be seen as in any way attempting to abrogate the free will of another soul who is on his own unique path. In general, when you are talking about suicide as it is commonly understood, that is by using one’s own “hand” to end one’s life, this is definitely out of harmony with our Father. You can see an example of this in the example of Judas when he took his own life following Jesus’ death after he had caused Jesus to be captured by the Jewish authorities in Jerusalem. Judas attempted to hang himself and fell to his death on the rocks below at a cliff. He, after being gently welcomed into the spirit world, was escorted to a dark place in what you would call the hells. His spirit was dark and his place of residence was dark and this was mostly due to his suicide. Prior to that he had not much darkness, except the usual sinfulness of a teenager of the time. But at any rate where he ended up was the result of his action. Later on, of course, he progressed out of his hell but that is another story.

As for assisted suicide at the end of life when one is suffering and wants to escape the pain, the penalty for such a choice is not as grave. There are mitigating factors though surrounding the impacts on other human beings. Let’s say that you are alone and no family is around to care for you, you have no friends and no one depends on you. In this case your choice would have few strings attached to it and few possibilities that you would be negatively affecting someone’s life, so the harmony here of this choice would be greater than the disharmony and you probably wouldn’t feel much of a penalty as a result of the choice. However, if you have family, friends, dependents, or other people who would feel the impact of your choice to end your life and it is not just you who you are affecting with this choice, then this would be in greater disharmony with God and God’s laws and would cause you to suffer somewhat more. Though again, if you’re at the end of your physical life anyway there will be less penalty involved. Nothing is simple. Each individual has a calculation to make and of course most people make the choice based on extant circumstances and have no idea what the formula is that they should use to make the calculation. Generally, the rule is don’t end your life, don’t hurt other people, respect God’s laws. The choice is up to the individual to make. We all have to live with the choices that we make but you can take heart in the knowledge that hell is not forever, nor are any of the lower planes of existence in the spirit world. The spirit world is all about progress, not eternal suffering or eternal stagnation. Judas was redeemed for his actions and so all other souls can be and will be redeemed for their actions. This is not to say that anyone should want to begin their journey in the spirit world by choosing actions that will land them in any level of hell or lower plane of existence, but that is the choice we are given. I suppose we have answered your question, right Brian? If so, I will take my leave and thank you for your efforts today and every day. God bless you.

B.H. God bless you as well, Mr. Padgett. I appreciate your coming today.
